BRAIN (Best Research Academy in Neuroscience) Academy

For rising 10th - 12th graders

How does your cell phone affect your attention span? Is your left brain or right brain more active during stress? How can you prevent test anxiety? NKU BRAIN will provide opportunities for high school students to conduct neuroscience experiments that are directly relevant to their personal lives, including learning how to conduct EEGs. Participants will get hands on experience dissecting and quantifying differences in animal brains, from fruit flies to humans. They will also use NKU’s Neuroscience teaching and research labs to develop and conduct neurochemistry, neuroanatomy and neurobehavior experiments under the supervision of the NKU Director of Neuroscience.
